You’ve Got to See This Rotten, Robot-generated Email I Received…

robot

I got an email from an artificial-intelligence robot this morning…

…that’s so bad I had to share it with you and break it down.

Here it is (display images to see it):

I knew something was wrong when I read the first line:

“We hope things are looking nice at Story Power Marketing.”

Looking nice at Story Power Marketing? Who says that?

Then this…

“You’re receiving this email as we’ve connected with a few founders & leaders to join our session below.”

Ummm…WHY am I receiving this email?

But wait…

…it gets even worse…

“I love that Story Power Marketing focuses on sales. The best 4th of July appliance sales you don’t want to miss are happening like clockwork, making it a nice time of year to upgrade your home and kitchen. What other kinds of sales do you think should be part of the summer season?”

Huh!? Complete sentences, maybe. But why this garbage about appliance sales? Incoherent nonsense.

Then the call-to-action:

‘We appreciate if you can check our meeting invitation, the Story Power Marketing intro session (personalized deck), where we included details.”

Why should I check out the personalized meeting invitation? What’s in it for me? You’ve given me no reason to engage with you.

And then this pathetic, robotic rapport-building:

Btw, have you heard of Jackson Pianos on Olive Streetin St. Louis? They must be awesome. Have a nice rest of your week!

Yes! I’ve heard of Jackson Pianos on “Olive Streetin St. Louis.” They’re located just down the street from me.

Hey, Robot. Your template is showing:

(“Btw, have you heard of {insert name of local business here}. They must be awesome.”)

This stuff makes me cringe.

At least the sender admitted in the fine print that the email was written by a robot:

“Kalendar AI has written the content in this email for our customers…Our mission is to help businesses thrive with AI stories creating business opportunities.”

I know. Robots SEEM to make it easier for you.

That easy button is so tempting. If you don’t like to write, hire a robot to do the dirty work.

But what good is a robot if it spits out garbage like this?

Your readers can tell the difference between robot-generated garbage and content written by you. And the difference matters to them.

You must deliver content that builds and strengthens a RELATIONSHIP between you and your reader/viewer.

Third-party or robot-generated content doesn’t do that.

It may seem easier to produce. But it’s not captivating. It’s not entertaining. It’s not rapport-building. It’s not relationship-strengthening.

If you want to attract prospects and inspire them to hire you, you must generate human, info-taining, captivating, client-attracting content.

It’s not as hard as you may fear. And it’s WAY MORE FUN AND FULFILLING to create content like this…

…if you have
systems and processes
to do it with greater confidence,
consistency, and ease.

I have some open spots in the Story Power Content Transformation Academy — where I teach those systems and processes and provide lots of one-on-one guidance to…

…help members transform content from “boring” to “brilliant” and transform content-creation from frustrating to fun.
