How to be Prospects’ Welcome Guest, not a Pitchy Pest…

1250x672

I spent part of my morning swatting pitchy pests from my LinkedIn message box.

Yesterday, I set off the swarm when I accepted several connection requests.

Sib: Is there any opportunity for me to design and develop websites for you?

Me: Buh-bye SWAT!

Oscar: (Via audio message) Would you open to new ways of signing more clients?

Me: Hasta la vista, baby. SWAT!

Dawn: Would you be available to touch base early next week and see what planning strategies makes sense for your business?

Me: So long, farewell, auf Wiedersehen, good night.SWAT!

(And so on and so forth.)

Maybe the connect-and-pitch routine works for some. But such pitches bug and bore me.

I don’t want to receive such pitches. I don’t want to send such pitches.

How about you?

The great Dan Kennedy said smart marketers establish themselves as a “welcome guest,” not an annoying pest.

If you’re not into the pest routine, if you want prospects to treat you as a welcome guest, read on because there is…

…a better approach…

Prospects will welcome you in if you…

  • Discover all you can about your prospects and clients. (Know more than your competitors and the robots).
  • Consistently deliver content that informs and entertains prospects and reveals that you understand their challenges and desires.
  • Offer solutions that are relevant to them — that enable a journey they wish to take (such as the journey from unwanted pest to welcome guest).

Next week, I’ll show you how to do all of the above.

You’re invited to an online training…
