Stop Wishing and Waiting. Start Selling…

1250x672

Yesterday, I shared a cautionary tale about list-building raffles and how they fill your CRM with lousy leads.

An agreeable reader replied with this: “The people signing up for our raffle were the exact opposite of the people we wanted.”

(So far, so good. But then this…)

“Now we don’t do anything. A lot of the people we do have serious conversations with donā€™t want to give out a lot of info, so we give them a card and wait for them. If they are serious, they do reach out when they are ready.”

Don’t do anything?! Hand them a card and wait for them!?

I call that…

Wait-and-Wish Marketing…

…and waiting and wishing is a dangerous way to grow a business.

In her defense, the reader’s business provides discreet services to people who are reluctant to reveal their issues.

But, I told her, if you offer them valuable information — answers their questions, reveal solutions, and address a problem — many will give you their name and email and you can nurture them with follow-up emails.

Many, not all. But many is WAY better than none.

They may not be ready to share a lot of info with you or jump on a sales call, but they are ready to engage and listen.

That’s why a good lead magnet — with smart follow-up — is so important.

As I told the wait-and-wish marketer: “The right lead magnet can attract real prospects. They’re not necessarily ready buyers. But with good, informative and entertaining content — delivered consistently — you can nurture those prospects and remain front of mind.”

Your emails will educate, inform, and inspire prospects to act.

When they are ready to act, you’re much better positioned to make a sale.

Tomorrow, I’m hosting a masterclass where I’ll reveal how to stop wishing and waiting. It’s called…

How to Create Prospect-Attracting Lead Magnets AND Business-Generating Follow-Ups — Quickly & Easily…
