Ditch the Tricks. Here’s Why…

A story pulled from the pages of the “Story Power Profit Pack” (Pointer #30)…
Ditch the Tricks
In late 2022, I got an email from big-time marketer Ryan Deiss with the subject line “Re: Refund Request.”
I opened the email, thinking, “I don’t recall buying anything and requesting a refund. Maybe this is a mistake. Maybe a co-worker did this.”
Turns out it was a trick.
I hadn’t asked for a refund.
Here’s what the email said: “Thomas, Our refund policy is clear. We offer a 30 day, 100% satisfaction guarantee on all our certifications and workshops or your money back. (Even when they are up to 83% off like they are right now.) Why? Because one of our core values is to love, honor, and respect YOU, our customer.”
Wow. I didn’t feel loved, honored, and respected. I felt tricked, humiliated, and disrespected.
You don’t have to trick people into consuming your content.
You don’t have to fool them into believing your mass email is a one-on-one personal message…
When you mislead a prospect to engage, it often burns you in the end.
You eventually end up with an angry ex-prospect who has discovered the truth or a customer who’s a bad fit and will be more trouble than they’re worth.
Play it straight. That’s the way to love, honor, and respect your prospects and clients.
The Profit Pack contains 52 strategies, tips, and tactics to transform your content from IGNORED TO ADORED.
