Ummm… Maybe I’m not cut out for this Godfather thing. A moment ago, I sent you an email with “an offer you can’t refuse.” AND I DIDN’T LINK TO THE OFFER.

Tomorrow, my nephew gets married.
And I’m his godfather.
That got me thinking about weddings and godfathers and that scene at the beginning of that movie when Don Corleone holds court in his office while his daughter celebrates her marriage in the backyard.
The undertaker, Bonasera, comes to Don Corleone seeking justice.
Bonasera’s daughter had been beaten by two men, and the police did nothing. Bonasera asks The Godfather to even the score with those men.
Don Coreleone refuses.
“Why did you go to the police? Why didn’t you come to me first?” he asks. “You don’t offer friendship. You don’t even think to call me ‘Godfather.’ Instead, you come to me on the day my daughter is to be married…”
Translation?
You earn loyalty through consistent connection — not last-minute desperation.
In business, if you only show up when you need something…
Referrals dry up.
Prospects and clients ghost you.
Partners shrug and ignore you.
But if you invest in real relationships, help others first, and show up often…
…people will respect, honor, and do business with you.
