Are you Ferris or the Economics Teacher?

Remember that scene in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off when the economics teacher drones on and on and on and on about federal economic policy?
“Anyone? Anyone?”
The teacher (played by Ben Stein) describes post-war efforts to “alleviate the effects of — Anyone? Anyone? —the Great Depression.”
He decribes how Congress passed — Anyone? Anyone? — the Hawley Smoot Tariff Act.
He compares this to current economic policy and says, “Vice President Bush called this in 1980 — Anyone? — something ‘D-O-O’ economics (Long pause) Voodoo economics.”
Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
The camera pans around the classroom, tight-framed shots of the students’ faces.
All have vacant stares. Bored stiff. Tuned out…
…except for one who has passed out. Head on desk, a pool of drool under his chin.
A classic scene that turned “Anyone? Anyone?” into a catchphrase.
Go ahead and laugh a little.
It’s a funny scene.
