All Gain, No Pain. Here’s How…
Yesterday, I vented about some dirty-trick marketers who signed me up for their webinars (without my consent) and added the events to my online calendar with “thanks for registering” notes attached.
(Artist’s rendering of me: š¤)
One of the things that got me really steamed about that: They gave one of my favorite marketing tactics a bad name.
Adding your event to a registrant’s calendar is a great way to boost attendance at your webinars, seminars, and other events. (But you should only do it for people who willingly signed up!)
When the event is front-and-center on the registrant’s calendar, they are much more likely to attend.
Most event hosts give registrants an “add to calendar” link on the “thanks for registering page” or in follow-up emails. Some registrants click the link. Many don’t.
Automatically adding it to the calendar is best. No links for registrants to click. No friction. ALL who register automatically get the event on their calendars.
When I began doing this with my webinars, I boosted attendance by 20+ percent. That meant more appointments and more sales.
This is one of those tiny tactics that moves the needle in a giant way.
But most event hosts don’t do it.
I don’t blame them.
Many business-building automations are a pain to implement.
If you don’t have the right tech, you might need to pay for a third-party system — such as Zapier or AddEvent — to post your event automatically to registrants’ calendars. (Ouch! Another tool to buy and configure!)
Even with the right tech (no third-party tools required), you still have to set it up. That’s its own kind of pain.
Many business owners skip the painful stuff — even if they know implementing will pay off.
But what if you could implement all the business-building strategies and tactics without the pain raining down on you?
What if someone else set up the tech for you and handled all the assembly and maintenance?
Then you could reap the benefits — more sales — without the pain.
That’s what my new service Implementum Now is designed to do. We help you discover the strategies that will help you get more appointments and sales, provide the tech you need to implement, and handle all of the assembly and maintenance for you…
So you reap the benefits without the pain.

p.s. In other news… I saw Joe Jackson last night at The Pageant in St. Louis. He’s one of the all-time greats. And, even though he’s 71, he rocked the house. He’s halfway through a North American tour. Omaha on Friday. Then he heads south and east. Here are the tour dates. Catch him if you can. And here’s the original video from one of his classics — Steppin’ Out.
