You Know The One About “the company you keep?” What do you think?

I love it when high-quality people call B.S. on me…

The other day, I came across a story about the Greek philosopher Epictetus. He was born a slave more than 2,000 years ago in Turkey. And then he rose to become one of the great stoic philosophers – a man who influenced emperors and whose words still ring true today. 


You know the old chestnut about “the company you keep?” Epictetus may have said it first: 


The key is to keep company only with people who uplift you, whose presence calls forth your best.
