Marketing Lessons from the Grateful Dead

Jerry Garcia died 26 years ago today. He was a founding member and lead guitarist of the Grateful Dead.

The anniversary reminded me of a book I like calledĀ Marketing Lessons from the Grateful Dead.Ā It’s a quick read, packed with some valuable lessons.

You don’t have to be a Dead HeadĀ to like this one. Here’s a Boston.comĀ article that summarizesĀ some of the key lessons from the book.

A Random Act of Kindness at Trader Joe’s

I had to deal with AT&T last week because of some issues with my cell phone. I won’t bore you with the details. I’ll say only that when it comes to customer CARE, AT&T doesn’t.

That’s why I enjoyed readingĀ this articleĀ over the weekend. It tells the story of an employee at Trader Joe’s who treated an elderly customer with care, respect, and kindness.

The story lifted my spirits…

…and it contains some valuable lessons re: customer care.

The Me You Cannot See

The Me You Canā€™t See is a docuseries on Apple TV co-created by Oprah Winfrey and Prince Harry. It tells stories of people around the globe — some famous, some not — who struggle with mental health.

This is a remarkable and important show. It addresses the destructive stigmas associated with mental health issues, and it fosters truth, understanding and compassion.
