Marvelous advice from Mrs. Maisel
Over the weekend, I watched the series finale of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and heard something I had to share with you.
If you haven’t seen the TV series on Amazon, here’s all you need to know: Midge Maisel is a ambitious comedian trying to get her big break.
(For those who have seen the show, but not the finale, I won’t spoil anything.)
Now the scene:
Midge is on stage, doing her thing, when she says:
šļø šļø šļø
“They say ambition is an unattractive trait in a woman. Maybe. But you know what’s really unattractive? Waiting around for something to happen. Staring out a window thinking the life you should be living is out there somewhere, but not being willing to open the door and go get itā¦ Being a coward is only cute in the Wizard of Oz.”
šļø šļø šļø
Oh, wow! That IS marvelousā¦
ā¦for womenā¦
ā¦and men.
Something for all of us to chew on.
(BTW, the series — and the finale — are great. Highly recommended).
