Leads Fading Away? Here’s a Fix…

1250x672

Have you heard the one about the expert who attracts leads only to watch them fade away?

Visitors go to the expert’s website, give their email to get a free resource, and receive a message that says, “Thanks for downloading! Here’s your link.”

Then nothing. Or a week later, a pitch.

Those hard-won leads move on for a simple reason.

When they downloaded your resource, they hadn’t decided to hire you, or even meet with you. They were taking a first look.

They don’t know you yet, and they’re still deciding whether they want to invest more in you. If they don’t hear from you (multiple times), they’ll forget you. Quickly!

So you have to follow up more than once, and you have to do it fast, while they’re still thinking about you.

Here’s the three-message email sequence you can use to turn leads from lookers into engaged followers and clients.

Email #1: Deliver the goods. (The moment they opt in.)

Thank them. Give them the resource they requested. Reinforce their decision by reminding them what the resource will do for them. Tell them what to expect next.

Email #2: Start a 1:1 conversation. (About 30 minutes later.)

Ask them a short, simple question. Plain text. No logo, no links. This feels like a personal message from you to them.

“I noticed you downloaded my e-book. Thanks! What’s going on that made you request it? Hit reply and tell me. I’ll write you back.” (When you ask what’s going on, prompt them with some options.)

Replies tell inbox providers people want your mail. And a real answer starts a real conversation.

Email #3: Tell them why you do this. (About 24 hours later.)

Skip the resume. Tell the story that put you on this path, and why you wrote this e-book. Help prospects see themselves in your story. Show them you understand theirs.

Three emails in 24 hours may seem like a lot. It isn’t. We’ve tested it.

Someone who just raised their hand expects to hear from you, and they’re paying the most attention right now. Wait a week and you’re a stranger again.

Now that you know the strategy, you have two choices:

1) Build this yourself. You’ll need a good copywriter, a tech stack that handles lead capture and email delivery, and a team to build it and keep it running.

2) We can do it for you with Implementum Now. Strategy, tech, and team in one place, so the sequence goes live and you don’t deal with tech headaches or hiring hassles.

Either way, start with a complimentary Plan to Prosper Session.

It’s a one-on-one with me. We look at what happens to your leads from the moment they opt in. We find where they’re slipping away. Then we map out how to fix it in your business.

Don’t have a lead magnet yet? We’ll help you design one, with the follow-up system as part of the plan.

You leave with a written blueprint. Yours to keep. Some people take it and run it themselves. That’s fine. I’d rather you have a plan you work without me than no plan at all.

If it looks like a fit, we’ll talk about working together. If it doesn’t, you still walk away with the plan.

Before you go chasing more leads, find out what’s happening to the ones you already have.
