Why “The Right Strategy” Is Not Enough
Earlier this week, I asked a 6-figure business owner, “What’s holding you back?”
His response: “Mainly just figuring out the best use of my time. There are so many options for promoting myself, all of which sound exciting and useful. I struggle with finding the ‘order of operations.'”
Sound familiar?
When it comes to business-building strategies, learningthings to dois not the challenge.
The challenge is choosing which things to do in which order.
I work with a lot of 6- and 7-figure business owners who know about webinars, email marketing, social media, direct mail, podcast guesting, and other growth strategies.
They’ve attended trainings, hired coaches, and read books. They’ve learned plenty. They have shelves filled with “playbooks.”
But they’re still stuck because there are so many options, and they struggle with finding the order of operations.
The most common question I hear from stuck business owners is “What should I do next?”
When we sit down with a business owner for a “strategy session,” we don’t focus on delivering yet another playbook. We focus on three questions:
Strategy — What should you do and in what order?
Tech — How can you use technology (including AI) to streamline and accelerate implementation of the strategies you’ve chosen.
Team — How do you find and unleash trusted, human helpers to implement for you so you don’t work your tail off?
Most business owners tackle all three of these — but separately, and often with different people.
They develop strategy with help from one or more advisors.
They piece together a tech stack on their own — or with someone else’s help.
They hire team members — maybe someone who understands marketing strategy, maybe someone who can do the technical tasks, rarely someone who can do both.
And then they spend lots and lots and lots of time trying to connect the dots.
The tech isn’t set up to execute the strategy.
The team isn’t equipped to run the tech or adjust strategy and tactics.
And everyone ends up busy without moving the needle.
Each handoff creates friction. Things fall through the cracks. The plan sits on the shelf — right next to all those other playbooks.
The most successful business owners integrate all three from the start.
Strategy leads — but the tech and team are aligned to it from day one, not bolted on afterward. Nothing gets “figured out later.” The order of operations is baked in.
When you focus on strategy, tech, and team as a single roadmap for your business, you stop spinning your wheels.
If that sounds like what you need, I’d love to invite you to a PLAN-to-PROSPER Strategy Session — a private, 1:1 conversation on Zoom where we’ll look at your business and map out exactly what to do, in what order, with the right tech and the right team behind you.
You already have the expertise. What you’re missing is a connected plan that turns that expertise into consistent, predictable growth.
When we meet, I’ll identify your highest-leverage opportunities, and deliver to you a personalized “Plan to Prosper” Blueprint — a clear roadmap combining the right strategy, the right tech, and the right team to simplify and accelerate your growth.
