Why I Face-Palmed When I Saw This Email Tactic

I’ve noticed something interesting about the emails I get from marketing master (and Story Power email subscriber) Dave Dee. They now include this message at the bottom:
One more thing… If you found this DEEmail helpful, forward it to a fellow professional or friend who’d appreciate it. It only takes a second. Creating it took 20 years of in-the-trenches experience.
Why would did Dave do this?
Because he wants to build his email list. Direct referrals from happy subscribers is one of the most effective ways to do it.
Why does Dave want to build his list?
Because an email list can be the most valuable asset in your business…
…if you CONSISTENTLY deliver informative, entertaining, action-driving emails.
When you do email marketing right, the bigger your list, the more you sell.
It’s that simple, really.
That’s why I planted my face in my palm and said, “Why didn’t I think of that1?” when I saw Dave’s referral request.
But that brief bit of humiliation has sparked a big dose of inspiration.
I’m going to add a similar request to the bottom of my emails — starting with this one.
By the way, did you notice I said, “direct referrals…is ONE of the most effective ways” to build your list.
If you want to grow your list (and why wouldn’t you if bigger list = bigger profits?), you must implement multiple list-building strategies.
