Why I Died of Boredom and How to Keep from Killing Your Prospects

bored

Yesterday, I was minding my own business, scrolling through a news feed, when I came across an article that preached storytelling.

And, mercy me, that article was….

…BORING!

I read the first sentence and quickly began to tune out. My eyelids were heavy. My head began to bob.

Then I got to the part that said, “…business storytelling can be an integral, and powerful, component of a content marketing strategy…”

…and I was out…

Melissa heard my forehead crash against my keyboard. She rushed into my office, screamed in horror, grabbed the phone, and called 911.

“Help,” she screamed. “I think my husband has died of boredom.”

OK, before you send flowers and condolence notes, I have to admit…

…I’m exaggerating a bit here. I’m alive and well.

But you get the idea.

I WAS dying of boredom in that figure-of-speech kind of way.

Sure, that article had some useful information, but…

Useful information is not enough!

Your content must be entertaining. It must have personality.

The article had none of that. No entertainment. No personality.

It might as well have been written by a robot.

In fact, it may have been written by a robot.

The content marketing world is polluted with artificial intelligence writing engines. Software with built-in robots that will write your emails and posts for you.

That may feel easier to you than creating your own informative, entertaining content.

But here’s the thing:

You don’t want your prospects dying of boredom, and…

…prospects don’t want to do business with robots. They want to do business with people they know like and trust.

You’ll captivate prospects and inspire them to do business with you if you create informative AND entertaining content.

Key questions:

How do you do that consistently and efficiently?

How do you do that without suffering writer’s block and feeling stuck?

How do you transform content creation from frustrating to fun?

I’ll answer those questions later this morning, in a live workshop I’m hosting…
