Of all the wacky, unusual holidays out there, this might be the wackiest:
Today, October 30, is Create a Great Funeral Day right here in the good ol’ USA.
Really. It is.
Now, you may be thinking, “Why is there a holiday for this!?”
Or maybe you think, “Planning a great funeral is NOT on my agenda today.”
And I would say, “Uh huh!”
But here comes a warning for my American friends…
When it comes to funerals — like many other things — China is kicking our ass.
They have better funerals. Great funerals.
And if we want to Make American Funerals Great Again, we have to do what many families in China do…
Hire strippers!
This is not a joke. In many parts of China, families create great funerals by hiring erotic dancers.
As the Chinese say, it makes the funeral āēé¹ā (hot and noisy). And everyone knows that a hot and noisy funeral is a great funeral.
Hot and noisy means a larger, happier crowd.
The result: More recognition and prestige for the funeral-ee (RIP) and the grieving family.
Great!
Not great: The Chinese government has been cracking down on the practice. They say it’s obscene and vulgar.
