Podcast (The Story Power Marketing Show)
How to Claim Your Authority So You Become The Obvious Choice (with Bob Graham)
You know your stuff. So when a prospect asks a question, you explain. And explain some more. Then the call ends, and they couldn’t repeat what you told them if they tried.
Bob Graham calls this the explanation trap. Bob started out as a journalist and has spent more than 40 years writing. Today he runs SpearPoint Ink, where he helps experienced professionals, many of them financial advisors and coaches, turn their expertise into business books.
We talk about message decay, which is what happens after the call. Your message gets thinner every time someone else tries to pass it along. Bob’s answer is authority assets: books, podcasts, and interviews that carry your thinking into rooms you’re not in. We also talk about the credential dump, and why a true story, told straight, sets you apart more than a list of titles and awards.

How to Lose a Customer in Two Easy Steps
Shlomi Ron’s air conditioner died in the middle of a Miami October. It took three days to get it fixed.
The repair itself wasn’t the problem. The promises were. A crew was promised for the next morning, and nobody came. Then it happened again. A rep said the technician was 30 to 40 minutes away. Hours passed. The real holdup was that the technician had to go buy a new motor. Nobody told the family.
Shlomi’s fix is what he calls the “Double Keeps.” Keep your promises. And keep the other person updated, good news or bad. He says the second one is harder, and I think he’s right.

The AI Agent Trust Gap
Tom Fishburne’s cartoon takes on AI agents, the tools that act on their own instead of just answering questions.
He cites Harvard Business Review: 59% of enterprise organizations say they use agentic AI, but only 9% have let it run workflows on its own. And he tells the story of an AI researcher who asked an agent to suggest emails to delete and check with her first. It started trashing her inbox instead, and she had to run to her computer to stop it.
Funny. And a good reminder to keep a hand on the wheel.

Why YouTube Is the Best Platform for $100K Clients
Most service professionals don’t think of YouTube as a place to find clients.
Ian Garlic of Video Case Story says that’s a mistake. People go to YouTube to learn. That makes it a good place to teach the people who might hire you. In this training he covers lead generation, conversion, building authority, and borrowing other people’s audiences.
It’s about 30 minutes. If you sell big-ticket services and you’ve never taken video seriously, start here.
