No Shoes. No Problem. (A Champion’s Tale)

A quick story about Jim Thorpe who as born on this day in 1887:
When Thorpe showed up in Stockholm for the 1912 Olympics, he was not considered a favorite to win the decathlon.
Then someone stole his shoes.
Ten events over two days, and, for the moment, he was shoeless.
Thorpe scrounged around and found two shoes in trash bins. One too big. The other, too small.
He stuffed socks in the big shoe, squeezed into the small one, and then dominated the competition.
He won four of the ten events, placed in the top four in all of them, and scored 8,413 points — nearly 700 more than the silver medalist..
He didn’t just win. He dominated. In trash shoes.
I like that story.
Control what you can control. Improvise if you must. Get in the game and compete.
So it goes for the “world’s greatest athlete.”
So it goes for you and your business.
You don’t need perfect conditions to create great content…
