My Favorite New Holiday Tradition…
A new addition to my holiday to-do list:
Burn the Devil.
Not literally. That would be messy and dangerous. And I don’t know where to find the real Devil.
But metaphorically, burning the Devil seems like a great plan.
I got the idea from the Guatemalans.
Every year on December 7 at 6 p.m. sharp, Guatemalans gather for La Quema del Diablo (The Burning of the Devil).
They light bonfires in the streets, burn effigies of the Devil, and toss in old belongings they no longer want or need.
It’s all about spiritual cleansing.
Get rid of the stuff that doesn’t serve you.
Let go of bad energy from the past year.
Burn the bad stuff.Ā š„ š„ š„
Start fresh.Ā š· š· š·
That’s something I can get fired up about.
And you?
What will you toss into that bonfire? What fresh new seed will you plant in the ashes?
Reply and let me know. I’d love to hear your plans for the year ahead.
Don't go away yet..
