I Needed Help. I Got AI-powered Fakers.
Color me stupid.
I thought I might find a talented developer in a Facebook group to help me automate a complex business process.
Instead, I got hounded by bots and pretenders dishing AI-generated slop.
It started on Monday. I posted a detailed summary of what I needed in the Facebook group.
Within 10 minutes, I had 15 replies. Not one sounded “real” or human.
Whoever (or whatever) took my request, ran it through some AI engine, and spit out generic “plans” for how they’d do the job.
One response after another sounded the same. Not one stood out.
My “favorite” responses came from “Oluwasegun” and “Frederick.”
“Oluwasegun” sent me a generic reply (“Yes, this is definitely possible, and I’ve built similar automations before…etc. etc. etc… blah, blah, blah…) with a video of a person (not Oluwasegun) demoing an automation that was nothing like the one I requested.
A few minutes later, “Frederick” wrote: (“Yes, this is definitely possible, and I’ve built similar automations before…etc. etc. etc… blah, blah, blah…) with the same video of a person (not Frederick).
Fake people sending fake messages, saying, “I’ve built similar automations.”
I don’t hire fakers.
Neither do your prospects.
That’s why you have to be careful when you use AI to create content.
Everyone’s on guard. Everyone is skeptical of the AI-powered posers.
If you want to stand out as HUMAN and get noticed above the AI-powered noise, you need a PLAN.
