How the “Hello Kitty Effect” Can Help you Grow Your Biz

hello kitty

Marketing legend Joe Polish has more money than Thurston Howell III, and he carries some of that dough in – get this – his Hello Kitty wallet.

Yeah, I said, “Hello Kitty,” as in this cat…

He got the wallet from his pal Dean Jackson who also carries Kitty in his pocket.

On page 144 of his book What’s In It For Them?, Joe breaks down the Hello Kitty effect:

“I’ve found that wherever I go with the Hello Kitty wallet, I instantly get reactions and start conversations.”

And like any good marketer, Joe measured results:

“I was so taken by the power of the wallet initially that I even started A/B testing it against other wallets to gauge response and see if any others would get the same reaction. Sure enough, none of them did.”

Who’da thunk it? A world-famous marketing master embracing Hello Kitty as a marketing strategy.

Yeah, I said “marketing strategy.”

Build Rapport to Build Your Business

Joe doesn’t carry that cute wallet just to be cute.

Joe knows: The wallet breaks the ice. It sparks conversations. It generates smiles. It builds rapport.

Joe also knows: When you break the ice, spark conversations, generate smiles, and build rapport…

…you attract leads, engage prospects, and get more clients…

…all of which begs a question for you…

How do you
break the ice,
spark conversations,
generate smiles,
and build rapport?

Joe has countless way he does this. The wallet is one example.

I have countless ways I do it. A story-powered, entertaining email like this is one example.

And you?

We’ll explore this and other questions when The Mastermind Book Club meets today to dicuss What’s In It for Them?

You’re Invited

Each month, Ted Prodromou and I choose a book to read. Members discuss the book in our online clubhouse. Then we meet on Zoom to discuss the book live.

You don’t have to read the book to join the conversation.

The idea:

✓ Share insights drawn from the book.

✓ Discuss how to apply those insights to improve your business.

✓ Celebrate success as you or other members implement.

The key word above: IMPLEMENT.

The Club is free to join. This month’s meeting is TODAY,  Thursday, Feb 23, 1 p.m. ET, 10 1.m. PT.
