Dr. Seuss Inspired This…

Theodor Geisel was born on this day in 1904. You know him as Dr. Seuss.

In honor of his birthday, I wrote a little something. Not as good as he used to do, but maybe worth a minute of your reading time…

When I earned a diploma,
I got many a gift.
A watch. And a camera.
Some barbells to lift.

But the gift that stood out,

That I put to best use,
Was an eyelash-thin book
By the great Dr. Seuss.

“Oh, The Thinks You Can Think!”
Was the name of that book.
It made my thoughts simmer.
It made ideas cook.

Permission to dream
A license to soar
That’s the point of the book.
That’s the thing I adore

So much great wisdom
Only 24 pages
It’s not just for children.
It speaks to all ages.

Go forth and think.
Go ponder and dream.
Go climb up a mountain.
Go swim in a stream.

Go start a new business.
Be not afraid.
You’ll build something great
From the thoughts you have made.

We all have some doubts
We all can get stuck.
We question are fate.
We curse our bad luck.

But WE CAN control
All the Thinks that we Think.
And with that control
We will fly.
We WON’T sink.
