Stories Can Power-Up Everything

I write long stories in my (almost)-daily emails and short stories in social posts. I weave stories into webinars, sales calls, and coaching sessions. I tell tales on podcasts I host — and on ones where I’m a guest.

Stories work everywhere and all the time — not just in occasional emails or posts. During sales calls, stories help prospects relate to you and see the power of your products and services. On your website, stories improve engagement and inspire action.

At networking events, tiny stories (more on that in Power Pointer #23) help you establish better, stronger relationships.

In social media comments or messages (even in a short comment or message), you can weave in powerful stories.

And, perhaps, most importantly, in interactions with clients and co-workers, stories build bonds.

Storytelling will make you a better coach, consultant, or professional service provider. Storytelling will make you a better leader. Storytelling will make you a better coworker, friend, and family member.

Why? Because the skills you develop as a storyteller will help you build stronger, longer-lasting human connections. They will help you ask the right questions, and deliver answers clearly, concisely, and creatively.

And one of the things I’ll emphasize when I unveil those tools: If you want AI to generate effective, story-powered content, you must FIRST understand how to do it without AI.

If you press the AI Easy Button without understanding how to assemble great content, you won’t know the difference between great AI-generated content and crappy AI-generated content.

And, believe me, I’m seeing mountains of crappy AI-generated content.

Important question: Do you know the difference between AI-generated content that works and AI-generated content that DOES NOT?

What good is generating content fast if it doesn’t work?
