Prison Party Fail (and Biz Lesson For You)

A close-up of a mans face and hands gripping metal bars, with a somber expression visible in his eye. The image suggests he is behind bars, possibly in prison or detention.

Ripped from the headlines…

…the prison party that never happened.

In December, guards at Lee Correctional Institution in Bishopville, S.C. found a pile of goodies in the prison yard — crab legs, steak, Old Bay seasoning, cigarettes, and two bags of weed — plus the drone that delivered them.

You know the old saying: “One man’s party ingredients are another man’s contraband.”

That’s why prison officials confiscated the goodies and then had some fun telling the public about it.

“I’m guessing the inmates who were expecting the package are crabby,” prisons spokeswoman Chrysti Shain said.

A classic case of cool tech but crummy strategy and implementation.

Bad news for prisoners.

Bad news for you if that’s how you run your business.

Too many business leaders invest in fancy tech but never celebrate the success they crave.

Why?

Incomplete or inadequate marketing strategy and implementation.

This is especially common for authors who write a book but fail to turn it into a profit-generating machine.

Their strategy:

Sell the book and collect some revenue…

…or hope the book builds credibility and makes the phone ring.

Those are incomplete and inadequate marketing strategies.

Later this month, I’m hosting a live training — “The Book Profit Plan — 3 Ways to Turn Your Book into More Profits in 2026.”

I’ll reveal a complete and simple system for authors to use their book…

…to attract leads, land more clients, and boost profits — without tech headaches or working to exhaustion.

Strategy. Execution. Celebration.
