Mastermind Book Club re: How to Work a Room
Join Ted Prodromou and me this Thursday, Feb 22, 2:30 p.m. ET (1:30 p.m. CT) as we discuss “How to Work a Room” with the Mastermind Book Club.
The author, Susan Roane, will join us.
Drawing from her vast experiences working with top industry leaders such as Coca-Cola, Apple, the NFL, and UnitedHealth, Susan presents easy-to-implement strategies to exude more confidence, win over your colleagues, and achieve more.
Each month, Ted Prodromou choose a book for the club. You don’t have to read the book to benefit from the conversation.
The Club is free to join at MastmindBook.club. We’ll email members the event details this week.

How Was This Not Obvious Before the Wedding?
“What was something you noticed between the groom and bride on their wedding day that made you think ‘they shouldn’t be getting married’?”
My pal Adam Kreitman stumbled across that question in an online forum.
And he turned it into a fable to help us avoid getting in bed with shady marketing agencies.
Read this if you want to laugh a lot, cringe a little, and hire the right marketing agency for your business.

😇 You Can’t Resent Them
I love Ryan Holiday’s “Daily Stoic” blog and emails. This one caught me eye. Great advice here about the toxic danger of righteous indignation.
The second-to-last paragraph is the gem.

All Songs Considered re: Rhapsody in Blue
Every Friday, I listen to NPR’s “All Songs Considered – New Music Friday” podcast. A great way to discover new things I might otherwise have missed.
Last Friday, they devoted half the show to “Rhapsody in Blue.” George Gershwin’s masterpiece debuted 100 years ago. Most critics who attended the debut panned it. Debate about “Rhapsody in Blue” hasn’t waned since.
Fast-forward to the 36-minute point. They discuss “Rhapsody in Blue” for 30 minutes. Fascinating stuff. I learned a ton. And I also discovered jazz pianist Lara Downes’ new album “Rhapsody in Blue Reimagined.” If you like jazz, you’ll like this version.
Words to Ponder
“All you can do is keep being you. All you can do is keep doing the right thing, for no other reason than it’s the right thing.”
