Why Did The Fishes Cross The Road?

joke day

This morning, while enjoying a mug of French roast and a heaping helping of Cocoa Puffs, I asked my AI copywriting robot, “B-9?,” to tell me the “greatest joke ever.”

He told the one about the chicken crossing the road.

(Best joke ever? I don’t think so. 🙄)

So I asked him to try again, and he delivered this gem…

Two fish are in a tank…

…One turns to the other and says…

…“Do you know how to drive this thing?”

Now we’re talking! 😂

🎉 Happy National Tell a Joke Day 🥳

It’s a great day to weave some humor into your content.

And once the sun sets on today’s holiday, don’t wait a full year to get jokey again.

Humor sells. Scientists say so.

Peter McGraw, a marketing and psychology professor at the University of Colorado who has studied this, once wrote:

“Humor can help brands cut through a cluttered marketplace. A well-executed joke grabs attention, sticks in customers’ memories better than most ad campaigns could, and injects brands into water cooler conversation. It also has the benefit of making companies seem more human.”

You don’t have to be funny in every email, social post, video, or other content.

But you always should show up as human.

Humor is just one way to weave your personality and humanity into your content.

People don’t hire you based on what you know. They hire you based on who you are.

That’s why I recorded a masterclass called “How to Put Personality in Your Content So you Stant Out, Attract Raving Fans, and Land More/Better Clients.”

In this masterclass, I share proven strategics, tactics, and frameworks to weave personality into your content so prospects will know, like, trust, and HIRE you.

If you want to see the masterclass recording, reply to this email with “…to get to the other side.” I’ll tell you how to get the recording.

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend.

One last thing…

After “B-9?” told me that knee-slapper about the fishes in the tank, I asked him to draw a picture to go with the joke. Here it is…
