The Cicada Marketing Method
They’re here.
The cicadas, that is.
For the past 13 years, billions of cicada nymphs have lived underground in the central USA, sipping sap from tree roots…
…waiting…
…and waiting…
…and waiting…
…until they emerge from the ground…
…climb onto a tree trunk, branch, or leaf…
…and transform into a winged adult.
Then they find a mate, do their thing, and die.
That’s what they call the “LONG GAME!”
Thirteen years until the payoff! That’s dedication!
Makes me think of all those business owners who stick with a marketing tactic for about 13 minutes before saying, “This doesn’t work” and moving on.
I met one last week — an attorney who published a book, posted a .pdf copy on his website, and then gave up when the phone didn’t ring off the hook.
“It didn’t work,” he said.
“Did you follow-up with the people who downloaded the book?” I asked.
“No,” he said. “I don’t have time for that.”
(Sigh! )
Too many business owners chase the quick fix. Launch a tactic. Wait for 13 minutes. Move on.
Here’s the problem: Very few leads are ready to buy NOW — or even meet now.
But…
…many are willing to join your email list, engage, and buy later…
…if you nurture them and give them the opportunities to engage.
It takes time. But the payoff is worth it.
When you chase the quick fix, you’ll usually fail fast.
Slow and steady wins the race.
