🛳️ “Yacht Rock: A Dockumentary”

I have to admit: When I heard that Steely Dan was being lumped with Toto, Christopher Cross, and other 70s smooth-rockers in the new HBO “Dockumentary” Yacht Rock, I objected. Steely Dan is better than that. I thought.

But then Melissa and I saw the documentary, and I get it.

If you like Steely Dan, The Doobie Brothers, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, or any of the other artists I already mentioned, I recommend Yacht Rock. Steely Dan gets its due. And I have new-found respect for the smooth rockers who were far better musicians (and far more influential) than I knew.

Words to Ponder

On this day in 1965, “A Charlie Brown Christmas” premiered on CBS television. Here’s something Charles M. Schulz, the creator of Charlie Brown and other Peanuts characters said:

“Life is like an ice cream cone. You have to lick it one day at a time.”
