Recommended Reading and Big Lessons re: What You Control

Roughly once a year, I read  Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl.

Frankl was a Holocaust survivor who later wrote about his experiences as a prisoner at the Auschwitz concentration camp.

The book is heavy stuff, yes. But it’s also full of huge lessons for business and life.

These are strange days. Many call them “dark days.”

All of us face challenges. All of us struggle. And all of us can benefit when we discover ways to deal with those challenges.

Man’s Search for Meaning
delivers for me. I discover new lessons and gain perspective every time I read it.

Here’s something Frankl says in the book that I particularly like, something especially important during these strange and difficult days:

“Forces beyond your control can take away everything you possess except one thing, your freedom to choose how you will respond to the situation. You cannot control what happens to you in life, but you can always control what you will feel and do about what happens to you.”

Amen to that.
