Mavis-inspired Marketing (To Profit More While Working Less)

Last night, Melissa and I saw Mavis Staples at the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis.

(Holy hall-of-famer, Batman! What a great concert!)

“Mavis who?” you say.

Mavis Staples… inducted in the Gospel, Blues, and Rock and Roll halls of fame. Four-time Grammy Award winner, including a Lifetime Achievement Award. A Kennedy Center Honoree. And #46 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the 200 greatest singers of all time.

She sang the lead vocal for The Staple Singers on “I’ll Take You There.” The song spent 15 weeks at #1 on the Billboard charts in 1972.

Mavis was 31 then. She’s 85 now…

…and still going strong.

Last night, she performed for nearly 90 minutes, and she didn’t miss a note (or a beat).

Some of the highlights: Cover versions of “Will the Circle Be Unbroken,” “Slippery People” (Talking Heads), and “The Weight” (The Band).

A funny thing about all those cover songs…

The 500+ people who packed the hall clapped and cheered and (some) danced in the aisle. And not one person screamed, “Hey, Mavis! What gives!? You didn’t write that song…”

…which leads us to the transition of this email from a concert review to a marketing lesson:

You can delight and move your audience with content someone else created.

Content creation can feel like a complex burden — especially if you have to compose every song email, social post, or video script yourself.

If you want to transform the process from complex to simple, share someone else’s content.

Find an article, video, or resource your audience will value. Interpret it. Put your stamp on it. Make it your own. Share it.

Marketers call this “content curation.” And when you curate content well, you stand out as a go-to resource in your niche.

Sure, you still have to create original content, too. But when you combine your original creations with curated content, you produce more while working less.

Speaking of creating original content…

Next week, I’ll re-open enrollment in “The 7-Figure Content Blueprint.”

The “Blueprint” is a 7-session, do-it-with-you workshop where you get everything you need to…

âś“ Unleash of flood of content ideas that are NOT the same-old boring stuff

✓ Assemble client-attracting content – consistently and easily

✓ Conquer writer’s block and NEVER feel stuck

âś“ Stand out as the human to hire in your niche so you can skyrocket profits

âś“ Sell with confidence and consistently — without being a pest

I’m currently running the workshop in live sessions.

Next week, after the live workshop concludes, I’ll compile the session videos into an on-demand package.

You’ll have lifetime access to the videos so you can watch anytime, as many times as you wish.

And for those who get the On-Demand-Blueprint on the day I launch it, I’ll have some valuable surprises…

…designed to help you attract leads and generate sales — without tech headaches.

Lemme know if you’re interested

No commitment necessary. (You don’t even know the details yet).

But if you want to simplify content-creation so you can profit more while working less, reply to this email and write, “I’ll take you there.”

I’ll put you on the early bird list (early birds will get bonuses not offered to those late to the game).
