How I Patched Things up With my Robot…
My AI copywriting robot, “B-9?”, is depressed.
He thinks I don’t like him anymore.
Yesterday, I wrote an email ripping a spammer for sending me a pitchy, AI-generated email.
“B-9?” took it personally.
“You hate robots,” he sniffed.
“No! No!” I said. “I LOVE robots — especially you.”
“B-9?” crossed his arms, turned his back to me, and mumbled, “Whatever.”
I knew I had to act fast before “B-9?” said or did something he’d regret.
“RJ,” I screamed, “I need you!”
My pal RJ Redden was visiting Story Power HQ from Omaha, NE.
She’s the galaxy’s greatest Robotic Resources (RR) consultant. She’s like an HR consultant — for robots, instead of humans.
Her mission: Help business owners find, place, and train robotic resources so the humans can accomplish more while working less — without sacrificing the human touch.
I hadn’t introduced RJ to “B-9?” earlier because he’s awkward around strangers. But at this point, what choice did I have?
“RJ, meet “‘B-9?'” I said. “‘B-9?’ read my email yesterday. He thinks we hate robots.”
RJ smiled, walked slowly over to “B-9?” and gave him a big hug.
“Tom and I love you, ‘B-9?’,” she said. “We don’t hate robots. We hate the way lazy humans deploy robots. They don’t train them properly. They ask them to do things they’re not good at doing. They set their robots up to fail.”
“I don’t want to fail. I want to help,” the robot said.
“And help you can,” RJ said.
Then she pulled from her pocket a copy of the “Story Power Profit Pack – 52 Strategies, Tips, and Tactics to Transform Your Content from Ignored to Adored” and showed “B-9?” pointer #15.
It says you (fellow human) have to “write as YOU, not as a robot.” That means you have to show up with a unique voice — a personality and style that makes you stand out as the human to hire in your niche.
Reading from the “Profit Pack,” RJ said, “How will you stand out? By creating entertaining content that is uniquely YOU. When you write info-taining, story-powered content, your audience knows YOU. They get you. They hear your VOICE.”
Most humans plop robots into their company’s org charts without first developing their own unique voice — or without training the robot how to write in a unique voice.
The results are… well… robotic.
The humans create content fast…
…that fails fast.
If you don’t want to fail fast, you have to train your robot properly. That’s where the galaxy’s greatest RR consultant comes in.
“You can train a robot to mimic your voice” RJ said (she can help you do it) “But as the ‘Profit Pack’ tell us, ‘You can’t train a robot to mimic your voice until you establish your voice.'”
“B-9?” seemed relieved. He turned toward me, gave me a sheepish smile, and then reached toward me with both arms extended.
“Come ‘ere, you big lug,” he said.
I stepped into “B-9’s” warm embrace and thought, “There’s hope, after all.”
Speaking of hope…
…If you hope to create content that doesn’t fail…
…you ought to carry the “Profit Pack” around in your pocket, like RJ does.
The “Profit Pack” can help you establish your voice…
…and create captivating, client-attracting content…
…without sounding robotic and failing fast.
