Here’s a Story About How to Begin a Story…

1250x672

A cautionary tale:

A few years ago, I came across a marketing “expert” on LinkedIn who said you should NEVER begin a story by saying, in effect, here comes a story.

“Let the story speak for itself,” he said. If you need to tell someone a story follows, it’s not a strong story.

Ummmmmmmm… ā¬† that’s dumb ā¬† Don’t listen to that guy.

I offer a different take inĀ The Story Power Profit PackĀ (pointer #48):

#48: Open Stories by Announcing ā€œHere Comes a Storyā€¦ā€

Humans love stories. Itā€™s in our DNA. So when you open an email, social post or other content by saying, ā€œHeads up! Story belowā€¦,ā€ your audience tunes in. They canā€™t help it.

Here are a few opening lines from my emails that tell readers a story is coming:

ā€œHereā€™s a cautionary tale for you to tuck in your ā€˜how-not-to-networkā€™ file.ā€

“Imagine thisā€¦ā€

ā€œA quick story about the awesome selling power of social media (or lack thereof) ā€¦ā€

ā€œYou might get a kick out of thisā€¦ā€

(Astute readers may have noticed I opened this email with a “heads up…!”)

Speaking of The Profit Pack…

it contains 52 strategies, tips, and tactics (a.k.a. Pointers) to transform your content from ignored (prospect-repelling) to adored (client-attracting).

And you can have a copy in your hot little hands in about 43 seconds (give or take) if you click the button below and buy it now.

I don’t knowĀ how muchĀ you’ll profit if you implement all (or even a fraction) of the pointers in theĀ Pack.Ā I’m confident, though, that anyone who implements the pointers will generate far more than the $103 they invest for the Pack. See for yourself…

Don't go away yet..
