šŸ’”Ā Like a Wedding Photographer Who Takes Selfies

Adam Kreitman, a.k.a. “The Marketing Advocate,” has done it again. If you post on social media, this is a must read. It’s a cautionary tool about how so many business people get “so-shill” wrong.

Recommended Tool

šŸ“§Ā Spark — Smart, Focused. Email.

I’ve been using Gmail since the dawn of time (give or take a few thousand years). But no longer. Earlier this month, I switched to Spark — an email app designed to manage inbox clutter and be more productive.

So far, so good. I’ve already noticed a huge difference in how I interact with my inbox. Saving time. Not letting things slip through the cracks, Keeping more organized. All that good stuff. Spark works on Mac OS, Windows, iOS, and Android. There’s no web version (which I thought was a shortcoming, but I know realize is no problem).

They offer a free version which is excellent. The paid version offers lots of great add-ons, including power AI tools.

Bottom line: It’s way better than Gmail, Outlook, Apple Mail, and the other usual suspects.

šŸ“šĀ Hit the Inbox

Scott Hartley was my guest last month on the Story Power Marketing Show (episodeĀ here).

Now, he’s offering his great book,Ā Hit the Inbox, for free (you pay shipping). Get this book if you want more people to receive, open, and act on your emails. It’s that simple!

Saving the Pets

šŸ¶Ā Pasadena Humane

There are countless ways to help people in LA who are suffering due to the wildfires. Here’s one…

Pasadena Humane has opened its doors to more than 400 pets displaced by the fires in Los Angeles County, and it has a hotline (626-792-7151 x970) to field reports of missing or stray pets. They are also providing medical care to injured pets.

Again, there are many ways to assist those who are suffering. As I spent this weekend hanging out with my crazy-doodle, Moose, I was touched by Pasadena Humane’s great work. (Full disclosure: My college pal Dia is Pasadena Humane’s president and CEO.) You can support the effortĀ here.

Words to Ponder

“How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving and tolerant of the weak and strong. Because someday in your life you will have been all of these.”

– George Washington Carver
